Our Expertise

Multiple Paths to Healing

We offer a range of evidence-based and affirming therapeutic practices designed to support emotional wellbeing, identity exploration, and healing. Our work centres clarity, safety, and respect for diverse lived experiences.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps individuals understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. It focuses on identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and developing more balanced, realistic perspectives. The aim is not forced positivity, but greater clarity, choice, and emotional regulation.

Narrative Therapy

Narrative therapy centres a person’s story rather than their “problem.” It helps individuals separate their identity from the challenges they face. Through this process, people reconnect with their strengths, values, and sense of agency.

Arts-Based Therapy

Arts-based therapy uses creative processes such as art, music, movement, and writing to explore emotions. It is especially helpful when verbal expression feels limited or overwhelming. The emphasis is on meaning and process, not artistic skill or performance.

QACP (Queer-Affirmative Counselling Practice)

QACP is an approach that actively affirms LGBTQIA+ identities and lived experiences. It challenges heteronormative and cisnormative assumptions within therapeutic spaces. The goal is to create environments that are safe, validating, and respectful of diverse experiences.

Trauma-Informed Approaches

Trauma-informed practice recognises how past experiences affect the nervous system, relationships, and sense of safety. It prioritises emotional and physical safety, choice, trust, and empowerment. Instead of asking “What’s wrong?”, the focus shifts to “What has this person been through?”

Certified Neurodiversity Practitioners

This approach understands neurodivergence as natural human variation rather than pathology. It supports individuals in understanding their unique ways of thinking, sensing, and relating. The focus is on strengths, accommodations, and self-acceptance rather than “fixing.” As DEIB practitioners, this work is grounded in a commitment to equity and justice, with a strong focus on creating affirming spaces for people across marginalisations — including caste, gender, sexuality, disability, and other intersecting identities.
