Coping with trauma

The experience of trauma is a journey that is unique to each individual. Resolving the traumatic experience may take years, and coping with the experience, healing from it depends on various factors. These are:

1) Individual resources: one’s own personality, perspectives, experiences and coping skills

2) Environmental factors and resources: Access to support, and systems of support, the dominant ideas around trauma, #mentalhealth and therapy, stigma associated with the same, etc.

Remember, your feelings are valid. It’s okay to reach out for support.
