We grow up on stories, often of romance and happily ever after. These stories are not all fiction- even actual retellings of lived experiences, often revolve around the idea of love at first sight, knowing that this is “the one” at the first meeting or instance itself. Very often these stories spotlight the role of attraction in a #relationship.
However, studies show us that “Love” is multi-layered and about more than just attraction. Robert Sternberg(1986) proposed the Triangular Theory Of Love, suggesting that love has 3 components:
• Intimacy
• Passion
• Commitment
According to Sternberg relationships built on two or more elements endure more than those based on a single component.
