For some people in high-stress or draining roles, that take up the bulk of mind space and the day, revenge bedtime procrastination is a coping mechanism, that attempts to create ways to access alone time, or leisure time even at the cost of sleep. While most people even unconsciously engage in this, and it may be temporarily gratifying, the long term impact of insufficient sleep could include drop in concentration, irritability, mood swings, insomnia, poor physical health.
